🚀 Quickstart
The basic flow in Evere is simply “create a project → log expenses → settle up.” Here we’ll walk through it using a trip as an example. It takes about 5 minutes.
Step 1: Get started with Evere
Section titled “Step 1: Get started with Evere”Download Evere from the App Store and open it, then choose how to start.
- Sign up with Apple / Google / email — your data is saved to the cloud and all features (invites, recording settlements) are available.
- Start as a guest — use it right away without signing up, though some features are limited (see Account & data).
First, set your display name. This is the name shown to your project members (you can change it later).
Step 2: Create a project
Section titled “Step 2: Create a project”Create a new project from the “Projects” tab.
- Enter a project name (e.g., “Thailand Trip”).
- Choose the currencies you’ll use. For an overseas trip, it’s handy to include both the local currency (e.g., THB) and your own (e.g., USD).
- One of the currencies you pick becomes the base currency. Settlement is calculated in this currency.
- If you like, add participants by name (you can also add them later).
Step 3: Log an expense
Section titled “Step 3: Log an expense”Log expenses from the “Add” tab.
- Enter the amount and currency.
- Choose the payer (who paid).
- Choose the participants (who shares this expense) and the split mode (equal, ratio, or manual).
- Optionally add a category, title, date, memo, and receipt image.
Use “Add another” to record several expenses in a row.
Step 4: Check the settlement status
Section titled “Step 4: Check the settlement status”Open the “Settlement” tab to see the result Evere calculated automatically.
- Summary: total number of expenses and total amount
- Settlement status: the ratio of settled vs. unsettled
- Payment comparison: for each participant, how much they paid vs. how much they owe
- Settlement: who should pay whom, and how much
Step 5: Settle up and record it
Section titled “Step 5: Settle up and record it”Once the money has actually changed hands, tap that item on the settlement screen to mark it settled. Settled amounts are excluded from further calculations, and a record is kept of who has settled.
That completes the basic loop. From the next pages on, we’ll look at each feature in more detail.
