🧾 Logging expenses

Log expenses from the “Add” tab. On a trip or in everyday life, just jot down what was paid.

  • Amount and currency — the currency can be chosen from the project’s available currencies.
  • Payer — who fronted the money (yourself or a participant).
  • Participants — who shares this expense.
  • Split mode — equal, ratio, or manual (see below).
  • Category — classify by food, transport, etc. (you can add your own categories).
  • Title, date, and memo — all optional.
  • Image — attach a receipt or a photo of the place.

To enter several expenses at once, use “Add another.”

From “Add image,” take a photo with the camera or pick one from your gallery.

The memo is a free-text field. Beyond a quick note, you can also save a link to the place you visited here.

Choose how an expense is split among participants, from three modes.

Split evenly among participants.

Specify a percentage per participant. Like a couple splitting “60/40,” you can allocate based on income or circumstances. The total must add up to 100%.

Specify the amount each person owes directly. The remaining amount is shown, so enter figures that add up to the total (exceeding the total shows an error).

You can edit or delete a logged expense anytime. Tap it in the list on the “Expenses” tab.

On the “Expenses” tab, you can filter by:

  • Settlement status (settled / unsettled / partially settled)
  • Category
  • Payer

From an expense’s detail screen, you can share that one item. When sharing, you can choose whether to include participant info and the receipt image, and whether to add a converted amount in a sub-currency.
