🔑 Account & data protection
Evere works right away in guest mode without signing up, but registering an account protects your data and unlocks every feature. Here’s how the two compare.
Ways to start
Section titled “Ways to start”When you open Evere, you can choose one of the following.
- Continue with Apple
- Continue with Google
- Sign up with email (tap the link in the confirmation email to activate)
- Start as a guest (no sign-up)
What you can and can’t do in guest mode
Section titled “What you can and can’t do in guest mode”Even in guest mode, you can do the essentials: create projects, log expenses, see the settlement calculation, and use multiple currencies.
However, the following require an account.
- Creating invite links (to invite other app users)
- Recording settlements (marking things as settled)
Switching from guest to a registered account
Section titled “Switching from guest to a registered account”Even after you’ve started in guest mode, you can register an account anytime. The data you created as a guest carries over when you register — you won’t lose anything.
Register from “Account” in the Settings tab.
Benefits of registering
Section titled “Benefits of registering”- Your data syncs to the cloud — access the same data after switching phones or from another device.
- Share with someone far away — even if your partner or friend is elsewhere, you can share the same project in real time.
- Invites and settlement records become available — the limits above are removed.
Display name
Section titled “Display name”The display name you set at the start is the name shown to your project members. Change it anytime from “Account” → “Profile” in the Settings tab.
Managing your account and password
Section titled “Managing your account and password”From “Account” in the Settings tab, you can:
- Change your display name
- (For email accounts) change your login password
- Check your plan, upgrade, and restore purchases
- Delete your account (all data is permanently deleted and cannot be undone)
